Action Graphing

This well named app pulls you into the concepts behind the math equations, so they snap into your brain. Your job is to help Ruggles, a small furry space traveler, move from level to level by manipulating a number line, which is used to navigate through a vertical and horizontal axis. The puzzles ask you to analyze and interpret graphs in order to predict real events while modeling the motion of physical objects. You learn to calculate slope, as well as develop a deeper understanding of the connection between slope and velocity. There are two major concepts: that the slope of a position-time graph represents the object's velocity, and that the y-intercept of the line represents the object's initial position. There are 75 levels. Created by New Jersey physics teacher Matt Blackman. We highly recommend this app, and hope to see more like it.
