This innovative two player experience for iPhone (or iPod Touch) gets you moving together in space and time -- just like a dancer. Here's how it works. As you know, iPhones and other mobile devices are great motion detectors. They have internal sensors called accelerometers that know when they are tilted, even slightly, and they have a tiny compass so they know which way is north. This makes it possible for them to become a dancing coach, at least according to Dutch game designer Adriaan de Jongh, who specializes in interpersonal interactive experiences (de Jongh's first game was Fingle, sort of like Twister for your fingers). After you find a friend, you hold your device between you. The music comes from the speakers with suggested moves following a virtual sphere of rings. You swing your arms and twist your body, and before you know it, you are dancing. There are six dances that start easy and get harder. Additional content includes videos of the ballet dancers from the Dutch National Ballet with classical music by Bart Delissen. Originally published by Game Oven.
