Form 1+ 3D Printer
© 2015 Formlabs
This 3D printer uses a different process than "traditional" extrusion printers. Objects are formed from a liquid to a solid, using a laser process called stereolithography. This is very different than most 3D printers. The lasers fire into a container of cool liquid resin. The light causes the liquid to harden into very small layers. The layers can be solidified into layers as thin as 25 microns. The build platform pulls your model upwards, out of the tank. The catch? The Form 1+ uses a liquid photopolymer resin which costs about $150/liter.
