Twenty years ago, Alphabet Express was an excellent computer-based piece of software. But PC graphics look bit-mapped on today's tablet. In addition, point and click interactive design won't work on multi-touch screens. In the app, children board School Zone's Alphabet Express, guided by an alligator conductor. They match letters with objects, or find all the "u" words in a circus scene. Content includes an alphabet song, a firehouse game, 30 dot-to-dot puzzles, 15 maze puzzles, 10 hidden letter pictures and 78 coloring pages. There are better ways to spend $4.99.
