If you have a smart phone (Android or iPhone) plus Wi-Fi, this powerful baby monitor will let you do a lot more than listen to your sleeping baby. You'll be able to make an audio or video recording, send alert, activate a song or a story, or share the view with multiple users. First you or other family members download the free app (called iBaby Care) and connect your phone's charging cable the USB port on the bottom of the monitor. This sync the device, and lets you set up the Wi-Fi network. This step must be done each time you change Wi-Fi networks. For example, if you move the camera to Grandma's house, you'll need to setup the network again. The good news is that the app makes this fast and easy. The camera delivers a crisp, clear color picture during the day. At night, infra-red lights provide a crisp black and white image. The sound capturing ability is excellent. To change views, you swipe your screen-- a process that was clumsy, in part because the power cord can hang up the rotation. You can also pinch in or out to change the view, and look up or down; making this the electronic equivalent to your eyeball in the room. Other features include movement and sound alerts, and the ability to capture pictures when your baby moves, automatically. You can also broadcast your voice, say, to tell your baby you're on the way (even though you could conceptually be 500 miles away). Includes one iBaby Monitor M6, one base and a power adapter.
