Wuzzit Trouble
© 2015 BrainQuake
By winding up a small gear with your finger the correct number of rotations, you must hit keys on a larger gear. The keys are used to unlock a creature (called a "wuzzit") and score points. Because the smaller gear has different numbers of teeth, you can use multiplication skills to get your answers. A parent's menu lets you adjust the music or reset the levels. The app stores a bookmark for one player. The idea is solid but there are a few weak points. When you spin the little gear, it doesn't move (instead, you wind it up). It would be better if there actually was some sort of related mechanical motion caused by your finger's motion. Also the format gets repetitive (we played the first 22 levels with little variety). And finally, the multi-thousand point system will have little meaning to a child learning his or her times tables. All in all, this is another way for a child to play with the number relationships that are at the heart of most calculations. Content includes 75 puzzles, with three star ratings per puzzle.
