Nick Code-It
© 2015 Nickelodeon
Designed to be used in the UK, this free, browser-based creativity activity is plagued by a bad case of screen clutter; in part because it uses every opportunity to promote Nick-related content through pop-ups. It also lets you create something, but refuses to let you see it work unless you register; in essence holding your work hostage. Want to see Sponge Bob laugh? Fork over your parent's info first. It's a noble attempt -- to pair popular characters with "real" code, to control things like how they move. But the actual coding opportunities are limited, and the actual code is cryptic and not well designed, and the entire experience is technically challenging because it works within the constraints of your browser.Code-It is open to all ages, but users under the age of 18 must obtain their parent/guardian's permission to use the application in accordance with the Terms and Conditions. This requires giving Viacom your parent's email information. All animations created and submitted using Code-It become the sole property of Nickelodeon and may be used at Nickelodeon’s sole discretion.
