Turn your iPad or Android tablet into a self-correcting math worksheet, where every second counts. Fast, correct answers to multiple choice questions earn you coins that you can use to play an addicting arcade game called Aqua Ride (flappy birds, with fish). The free version gives you a taste; the full app costs $10 and can keep records for different children. This app came is one of a series of 15 apps, each with a similar adaptive learning design from a Carnegie Mellon University startup called Playpower. An adaptive learning features makes daily suggestions for two math activities. The free version provides adaptability and the complete curriculum without ads, while the paid version allows for more than two activities per day. Parents, of course, are encouraged to pay for the full $9.99 app to accelerate their child’s learning. All versions of the game allow players to save up credits from solving math problems to play Aqua Ride, a flappy-bird's like game.
