© 2014 Tocobox, Inc.
Coming 8/29/2014 for PC, Mac and iOS, Tocobox is "an innovative Gmail client app for teens" that uses existing Gmail accounts, layering additional features. These include a more colorful interface, avatar creation abilities, a drawing board and an instant messaging tool. Optional parental controls provide additional protection. Tocamail is free with limited features with in-app sales; with a premium version costing $30/year. Features include two different levels of user-interface (UI), Tocomail can be "enjoyed by kids of all ages."The free version delivers a basic set of parental controls conducted through a safe list of contacts allowed to communicate with their kids. A premium version, available for $2.99 a month or $29.99 a year through In-App Purchase, provides additional parental controls which includes a quarantine box, profanity filter and enhanced contact list. With premium services, the child can communicate with any contact outside the safe list after the parent has viewed and approved the email. Parents can also choose to receive a copy of the quarantined email sent to their regular email account and can approve or reject emails directly from these notifications. In addition, a "bullying recognizer" promises to detect and notify parents if bullying patterns are found (a feature that "will be added soon.") Created by Dennis Bolgov, the CEO of Tocobox.
