Good for playfully bringing up the topic of tooth brushing, Duckie Deck is a no-fail starter app with a zany, humorous twist. First you touch a mouth to populate it with teeth. Next, you feed the mouth, by dragging and dropping different types of foods -- some junk food, others good for you. We liked that this was a multi-touch feature, so that more than one child could play. Also the mouth is designed to be the same size as a real mouth, in case you want to hold the mouth on the screen over your own. After a few snacks, the teeth become dirty and need to be brushed. You are automatically taken to the main menu, to repeat the activity. It is a one trick pony app, with quality illustrations and music. If you like this app, you'll also like Duckie Deck Hungry Clipper. Note: we were able to get the app to crash by pressing too many teeth (reviewing version 1.2 on an iPad).
