Monkey Preschool Explorers
© 2014 Thup Games
Fast, fun and playful, this self-leveling sorting experience asks you to race through a course full of items by matching attributes of items like similar animals (e.g. "zoo animals", letters, colors, numerals or patterns) -- items that could've been plucked directly from any school readiness workbook. Because you control the pace of the problems, and hints are available only as you need them, you can move as fast as you like to help your monkey earn a hat. Weaknesses are minor: the main menu icon is missing from the "pick who goes next" screen, and it isn't easy for a child to toggle off the persistent background music (you can do this in the parent's menu). The narration uses a voice that will drive adults from the room (how would you expect a monkey to talk, after all) and the girl monkey's car is stereotypically pink. But the solid, responsive design far outweighs the weaknesses, making this well worth the download.
