Skit!
© 2014 Storytime Studios
Make your own narrated 20 second puppets shows, with this easy to use, powerful editing and social media tool. Supported by ads, in-app sales and promotional deals with movies like the LEGO Movie, this is a free smartphone and tablet app (for Android, Kindle and iOS) that makes it easy to create and share. The studio that made the app is owned, in part, by Warner Bros. which explains why the app is free. You are forced to register and provide your age and a valid email address. If you provide accurate information, your work is classified as COPPA compliant moderated G, PG or PG-13 work. Skit! claims to be "the only social platform taking on the age divide."Making a project is easy. You can import your own photos and layer over clip art or LEGO characters. There's a nice selection of special effects, and it is easy to record audio as you move items on the screen, like a puppet show. Finished work can be shared as a text message, a tweet or an email; and it is sent along with a promotional video about the app. Skit! comes from Max Woon and Robin Johnson, from Santa Monica, California, with funding by TechStars and Warner Bros. Media. It first launched in July 2013. Learn more at http://www.skitapp.com.
