Lexia Learning Systems has two products: Lexia Reading Core5 and Lexia Strategies for Older Students. Lexia Reading Core5 is an adaptive reading and assessment program for preschool through 5th Grade. The program also uses norms based assessment measures to determine student risk, predict future performance and prescribe instructional interventions required to reach grade level benchmark. Also includes an embedded library (in PDF format) of teacher delivered lesson plans and independent practice worksheets. Learn more at www.lexiacore5.com Founded in 1984 with a grant from NICHD, Lexia published one of the first early computer based assessment and skills programs for reading. It was awarded the Gates Literacy Courseware Challenge maximum grant ($500K) in 2013 to develop writing strand to complement Core5. There are iPad and Android (via Google Play) apps versions, but the download is big (nearly 700 MB). Published Core5 in July 2013, the first Lexia program integrating adaptive instruction without testing capabilities. Lexia merged with Rosetta Stone in August 2013 as a wholly owned subsidiary.
