The price is right, but the questions are confusing, in this free app from the Smithsonian Science Education Center. The idea is to show children how to describe movement and motion while virtually visiting animals in the Smithsonian National Zoo. After you sign into one of the three player profiles, you are asked a series of multiple-choice questions, which are answered by touching one of three animated animals. The illustrations are not the best, and the challenge is confusing because there are times when two animal choices have the same answer. In addition, the main menu is cluttered. Strengths include the ability to save three player profiles, and animal facts are presented by way of clear narration. Developed in a partnership between Filament Games and the Smithsonian Science Education Center. Despite the rather dry presentation, this free app could help extend a visit to a real zoo.
