ClickN KIDS Tablet ($100, ClickNKids.com) is a bare-bones, gimmick-free Android kids tablet with Google Play and a lower quality screen and sound. The child management features are easy to figure out and use, once you figure out how to turn on the tablet (there are two similar looking on and home buttons, that makes this simple job confusing). The tablet has a split personality -- one for kids (designed by Kiddoware) and the other for adults, to manage the content. It is easy to set up this tablet, especially if you have a Google Play account. We were able to easily download Google Earth, and after a bit of scrambling, add it to the child's menu. The tablet comes in your choice of eight colors, and has a 7 inch screen with a front-facing camera; management is limited to one child. There is 8 GB of storage plus a micro SD card; the battery life is on par with other Android tablets. Given the price, this is a viable tablet option.
