This first ever 3D Sims title works only on the Nintendo 3DS, which means some additional new control mechanisms not available in the past. Besides the 3D graphics, the game plays like other Sims games, offering a top-down view of your Sim family. Some new features are made possible by the new hardware. For example, you can now turn yourself into a Sim, by taking your own picture (your face is digitally molded onto a Sim). You can blow into the microphone to make butterflies flutter, or shake the 3DS to cause an earthquake. If you are near another Sims 3 player with a 3DS, you can use Nintendo StreetPass to trade your Sims. Other features allow you to travel to different zones with your Sims, which contain community features and buildable lots for your Sims' homes. The Sims have stepped into 3D with style.
