Teaches: music: instrumentation, scale and rhythm

CTR Review

First released in 1995, this clever program has been repackaged and updated to run on both Windows XP and OSX, but note that from there the program is the same as the original. Designed by electronic composer Mort Subotnick, (originally published by Voyager) this title allows children to freely experiment with elements of music. It contains both games and open-ended creativity activities. It is easy to use, although some of the menus are difficult to figure out. That said, the program offers a pleasant way for children to experiment with basic ear training, instrumentation, scale and rhythm. The Windows version requires resetting the screen size.
