This is a full year of Algebra One curriculum delivered on a 20-DVD set, accompanied by a teacher's guide, student workbooks, and Algebra tiles. On the DVDs, students will find interesting, well-presented lessons on each concept, plus guided practice sessions. The idea is that students "click" through the lessons at their own pace (watching and listening) and then use the guided practice sessions in conjunction with their worksheets. The problem is presented on the DVD, kids work it out on their worksheets, and then go back to the DVD to see the solution carried out. The whole experience seems to work well for delivering and working with content, despite the lack of interactivity we've come to expect from CD-ROM delivered algebra titles. The DVDs do a good job of keeping things interesting, with entertaining characters and video of real-world application of algebra. Plus, they are plug and play-- teachers can use them in their classrooms with only a TV monitor and DVD player and no computer hassles.
