"Turn any whiteboard into an interactive surface" claims mimio Interactive. Unlike conventional systems that embed their technology into the whiteboard surface, mimio uses a "mimio Interactive Xi Bar" that attaches to the whiteboard, and connects to your Windows computer via a USB port. Next, you plug in your standard computer and projector, install the Studio software, and you have an interactive surface. The battery operated (1 AA) bar can "see" your marks, which becomes the cursor on your computer screen. mimio Studio Software includes lesson creation templates, and the ability to draw, type, annotate, and import files; and with Studio 6 software you can even integrate and control video, sound and Flash files. Another feature is called mimio Capture, making it possible to "see" the dry-erase marker work, save and export. Finally, mimio Pad is a wireless (30 foot) touch pad that can be controlled away from the computer.
