Update 7/12/2010: Two noteworthy features recently added to Kerpoof (www.kerpoof.com) include Spell a Picture, a strong early literacy experience, which is like a very simplified version of Scribblenauts (5th Cell), where you can add characters and objects to a background scene by spelling it, one letter at a time. You type, drag, or click ABC tiles into place to spell words. For instance, upon typing the letter “C,” you might notice object bubbles with pictures representing “cap,” “cow,” “corn,” “cob,” or “cab” appearing. There are 2,000 word possibilities that include nouns, verbs, opposites and feelings. The creativity options are limited, with just five backgrounds and the inability to resize the stickers. Make a Storybook is an update to Make a Story. Features include resizable, repositionable text boxes and backgrounds with a mix of pre-drawn items and freehand drawing, without the need to draw separately and import, plus the ability to save pages in JPEG format, and a PowerPoint-inspired page editor palette, which allows students to navigate their story, as well as add, rearrange, or delete pages. See the regular entry of Kerpoof for more information. Note that the Kerpoof team has also created Disney Create.
