Legends of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole
© 2010 Warner Brothers Interactive Entertainment
Amazing graphics and flying action mix with repetitive game play in this action flight game set in the fantasy world of the children's book series, Guardians of the Ga'Hoole. In the story, a young owlet named Soren arrives at the Great Ga'Hoole after escaping from the evil Pure Ones. You will take on the role of Shard, a young Guardian, and set out on a secret mission to reveal the truth and uncover the evil plans of the Pure Ones. You and your band of heroes will take to the air, armed with battle claws as you engage in mid-air combat against owls and other enemies. You can upgrade your character's stats and abilities as you play by unlocking new armor sets, each with their own advantages. Testers liked how you could choose from four different species of owl - Horned, Barn, Great Gray or Spotted - each of which provides a different set of initial abilities. They didn't like the way the game boxes you into missions. "You should have an open world, where you can just fly around and explore."Prices are $50 for the PS#, Xbox 360 and Wii versions, and $30 for the Nintendo DS. Krome Studios.
