Loopz
© 2010 Mattel, Inc.
Loopz, is a space-age adaptation of the classic memory game Simon, although it has no commercial connection to the game (Simon is owned by Rival toymaker Hasbro). Standing about 2 feet tall, Loopz ($30, www.mattel.com) consists of four light-up, semi-circular rings, each containing an infra-red motion sensor. You either freely experiment with light and sound patterns as you pass your hand (or elbow) through the rings, or try to copy an existing pattern by following a specific order, not unlike the classic memory game "Simon." Sound tones and lights change as the challenge increases and an internal counter tracks your time and number of completed levels. There are seven modes of play, and play options for up to four players. The four AA batteries are included.
