Zoodles is an Adobe-air based app that is designed to put pre-selected materials at your child's fingertips; while keeping everything else out. The idea is to provide a safe, virtual playground that can be adjusted to your child's age and skills. Once it's installed on your Mac or Windows computer, your child sees games from popular children's sites like PBS Kids and Starfall.com, stripped of any advertising content; a publishing practice certain to send shivers down the spine of any patent attorney. But it works. Children are able to quickly jump in or out of dozens of higher quality games. If they loose interest, Zoodles makes it easy to jump to something else. The service is free for the basic service. Recent updates include a Firefox Add-On, that makes starting Zoodles a one click process, from mom or dad's browser. So how does Zoodles make money? Buy selling ad-ons. A Premium Membership (http://www.Zoodles.com/parent) gives parents additional features, including the ability to promote subjects, block unwanted games, add in favorites and get detailed activity reports on each child. Premium costs are $8 per month, $40 for 6 months and $60 for 12 months.
