KidsHealth provides health information to three audiences: children, parents and teens. There's a lot of information that covers just about every topic that might come up in a typical visit to your pediatrician. Where the site really shines, however, is in how it can provide developmentally appropriate answers to a child's questions, such as "how does my heart work" and "what does my brain actually look like?" The teen section contains an electronic storybook called "The Pink Locker Club" designed specifically for teen age girls. It deal with crushes and other topics that teen girls wonder about. Funding for the site is provided by the Nemours Center for Children’s Health Media. The Center creates print, online, and video content about a wide range of children’s health topics. KidsHealth also works with health providers, insurers, and corporations to provide family-friendly health information and materials specifically for parents, kids, and teens. This is an excellent site for any parent or teacher to bookmark.
