Little Mommy: Walk & Giggle Doll
© 2009 Fisher-Price, Inc.
It's always fun to keep an eye on the latest doll tech. Little Mommy: Walk & Giggle Doll can talk, walk and right herself after falling down. Her brain is an 8-bit, 6502 CPU similar to the processor that powered the Apple IIe. The doll can say 60 phrases such as "I'm tired" or "help me mommy" and comes in two ethnicity options; African American and Caucasian. Six AA batteries -- two in each foot for balance and two in her back -- power three servo motors. See the demonstration at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gAg6KAPn0CYSo should you buy one? Our testers loved this doll, for at least one set of batteries. We're not sure how long this love will last because she seems to leave little room for imagination. But, this is a different type of play. If you're looking for a robotic doll along with a very strong novelty effect, this is a good choice. We can also say that the doll survived a good deal of abuse such as falling off of tables, with no ill effects.
