Bringing a dose of welcome creativity to the racing genre of games, ModNation Racers is worth keeping an eye on. The game is planned for 2010 for the PS3. Imagine a fun Kart racing game of the Mario Kart variety. Next, mix in a powerful track editor of the Roller Coaster Tycoon variety. Finally, layer in some social features, like the ability to share your track, or download other tracks, and you get the idea of this innovative title. It is easy to layout track, make lakes, mountains, trees, banked turns; combined with speed boosts, drifting and weapons. You can save your track online, and invite other players (friends or strangers) to race with you. Other features include a matchmaking tool, the ability to save your scores on a pubic leaderboard, and a set of chat features. Designed for 1-2 players offline or 2-12 players online. This game looks amazing, particularly because of the easy to play editing tools.
