Teachers and presenters, take note. Literally. Similar in ways to the Pulse LiveScribe, this digital writing kit hardwires a pen to your Windows computer screen, by way of a Bluetooth USB key. If your computer is plugged into a projector, the device makes it possible simulate a giant white board, perfect for group brainstorming, charting out a grand scheme, or showing a class something. In terms of hardware, there are two parts to the kit -- a USB key and a cigar-sized pen. First, you insert the key into a free USB part. The software starts automatically, and the key starts sniffing for the pen by way of a bluetooth connection. The good thing about this is that it will run on any Windows-based computer, with no prior installation as long as you can find a USB port that can accommodate the rather fat key, and the computer is online. By using menus on the margin of the proprietary paper, you can adjust the ink color and line thickness on the fly. You can also incorporate perfect geometric shapes, or delete ideas with both erase and undo commands. Notes can be saved via email or printed, and the images can be incorporated into PowerPoint presentations or exported in PDF format. The kit is compatible with PC's running Windows XP Service Pack 2 or higher, and Vista. It includes one Papershow Bluetooth digital pen; a AAA battery; three ink refills; four silicon rings; one Papershow Bluetooth USB stick with PAPERSHOW software; one Papershow A4 notepad for digital flipchart work; 30 sheets of Papershow printer paper for interactive presentations; one-ring binder for Papershow printer paper storage; and one pencil case for the Papershow pen, a USB stick, and accessories.
