This toy/web hybrid uses the Webkinz model, where a plush toy with a code to unlocks a virtual world. Note that the world has not yet been released (due March 2009). The toys and site feature animals and content from the group Conservation International. The site combines animal conservation with games with a virtual world, found at http://www.tales4tomorrow.com. Once you've registered and selected a screen name, you choose one of four missions, such as saving the big-eyed tree frog or restoring the tiger and rhino habitat. Content will include games, videos, the sending of "tale mail" to friends, and creating habitats for the animals. A line of 16 well-made plush animals are designed to resemble endangered animals; each with a coded tag to provide access to the site.
