Tricky but fun, this racing game may be best described as "you get what you pay for" (considering that $20 is cheap). We tested the Wii version using one controller (and the required Nunchuk) and found it to be addicting -- although the graphics are a long stretch from state-of-the-art compared with other racing games. With music and cars taken from the '50s and 60s, you start out by logging into one of the four gamesave slots, in this one- or two-player game (note that Nunchuks are required). Content includes 15 Chrysler and Plymouth cars. As with many racing games, this one starts with a base-level car (a Chrysler) and a basic track. By placing in races (a rather tricky task), you can unlock more stuff and try to drive your way into the "King of Cool" spot. As you drive, you pick up gas, money and decorations. Eventually you can trade up to new Chryslers, better engines and faster tires. Unfortunately, the graphics are so blocky that you can't really make out the features of the cars; details that might be important to someone drawn to the title of this game. We noticed some gender stereotypes -- if you win, you are more likely to be approached by "babes" who like teddy bears. Note that younger children will need some help getting through some of the races (our 12-year-old tester struggled at first). Bag it or borrow it.
