This is a life simulation where you play as one of six monsters, taking on the role of either the hunter or the hunted. Each of the creatures has special skills, from thick armor to crunching jaws. As you swim around, you experiment with your abilities, eating small creatures to gain strength and hiding from hunters. You begin in an inland sea and slowly venture into more dangerous waters. Our testers noted that the swimming can be tricky; sometimes it is too easy to overshoot a target. Other aspects of the game operation -- such as saving progress -- could be improved. The educational value of the experience should not be overlooked. This is an engaging way to help children start to think about the hunter/hunted relationship that is so prevalent in nature. The game is for one to two players on the PS2 ($15) and Wii ($30), and one-player on the Nintendo DS ($20). We tested the PS2 version. Created by Atomic Planet for DSI.
