Here's an example of a children's book 2.0 that can nicely accompany a science unit. Miza.com is the companion website to the Scholastic book, "Looking for Miza: The True Story of the Mountain Gorilla Family Who Rescued One of Their Own". The site is designed to help children understand the plight of Africa’s endangered mountain gorillas. It contains the latest gorilla news, links to blogs kept by rangers, plus games of concentration with gorilla tracks, gorilla movies, a sing along, and a gorilla finder game -- where you see what the rangers see, by moving a pair of binocular viewfinders around the screen. The site was created by ESI productions for Turtle Pond and Scholastic, and can be found either www.scholastic.com/miza or www.miza.com.
