Note: See Leappad Explorer, released July 2011. The new Leapster2 handheld looks and plays nearly identically to the older Leapster system. The touch screen is still a little fuzzy, and the controls are a little bit sluggish, compared to the Nintendo DS. It features built-in tutorials and learning levels that adapt automatically to your child's skill level. It features a touch screen and stylus and is compatible with all previous Leapster learning games. New to this version is the ability for your child to connect it to the computer using the Leapfrog Connect program (for Windows or Macs) for access to the Leapfrog Learning Path, for additional online games, activities and rewards they've earned. There is also an online creativity studio where your child can upload art they've created, embellish it or change it completely, and publish to share. In addition, with the new USB connection, parents can see their children's progress in recent games, get detailed updates on the skills they are exploring and share in their accomplishments.
