This second Drawn to Life title for the Nintendo DS combines an easy-to-play side-scrolling game with set of drawing tools. Using the Nintendo DS touch pad, you can quickly sketch out your own game elements, and get help from a drawing tutorial if you need it. Reading and minimal drawing skills are prerequisite for playing this game. The adventure component plays like a typical side-scroller, with two challenge levels. In the story, SpongeBob and Patrick discover a magic pencil that brings whatever it draws to life. The evil SpongeBob drawing - DoodleBob - also has a pencil and uses it to cause havoc in Bikini Bottom. You must draw your own hero, defeat DoodleBob's drawings, and rescue SpongeBob and his friends. You can also draw and customize your own home, and play against friends in two-player VS. mode. This is a great use of the DS capabilities to bring a child's ideas into the game, mixing it with funny dialogue. The drawing tasks can interrupt the game play, however, which is a minor issue. The bottom line? Buy it. This innovative experience is unique and fun, and it is definitely worth the money. Designed by Imagine for THQ, the game is available in English or French.
