This self-contained, battery-operated (3 AAs) air guitar comes with a belt buckle, book-sized amplifier and two guitar pics. Ten songs include Iron Man, Smoke on the Water, Ace of Spades, You Really Got Me, More Than A Feeling, and five original freestyle riffs. You connect the belt buckle to the amplifier, turn it on, select your track, adjust the volume, and wave one of the special pics in front of the buckle to play the song, one note at a time. In order for the song to sound right, you have to time your strokes to match the music, making this a test of rhythm and motor skills. You can also hook up the audio-out plug to an external speaker system, or use the mini-amplifier with your MP3 player. Because you don't actually create the tunes, this is one of those toys with a big novelty effect, but it fades quickly.
