There baaaack. This latest version of the egg-shaped Tamagotchi contains a family drawn from 65 possible characters, who live inside the battery operated toy on a hard-to-see LCD screen. In this series, children take care of a family of characters. Each family consists of three siblings, who grow and bond depending on how you raise them. There are different genetic groups of Tamagotchi, including the Mames (the Intellectual family), Memes (the artistic family), Kuchis (the laid back family), and the Violes (the cheerful family). There is also a new addition to the Tamagotchi world called Tama & Earth Expo (www.TamaTown.com) where you can travel to different Pavilions and explore foreign locations such as Europe and Asia. You can also learn about ways to save the planet in the Ecology Pavilion or play games in the Gotchi Amusement Park. In addition, Gotchi points and special passwords can be used to shop online, visit the travel agency, get a new job and so on. In TamaGenerations.com, you can create family trees of favorite Tamagotchi characters and collect hidden family heirlooms. And, in a partnership with Family Tree Magazine and FamilyReunion.com, you can also create your own personalized family tree and learn tips on planning your own family reunion party. Our testers were less than impressed by the complexity of these creatures.
