An interesting mix of sponsored content and games can be found at Millsberry.com, a poorly designed (as of 1/1/08) site created by Mills Online, Inc., a subsidiary of General Mills.Concerns include the way that sponsored content is embedded into the games, so that younger children can't tell the difference. For example, in the Arcade, all of the 24 games have something to do with General Mills products, such as Cheerios, Trix and Cinnamon Toast Crunch. One child tried to buy popcorn at the snack bar, but found that they only sell "healthy snacks" like veggie dogs, kiwi smoothies and Chex Mix. To earn money, children can watch "movies" in the theater, which consist of commercials for products like Reeses Pieces. When it comes to free sites like Millsberry, you get what you pay for.
