Hasbro's "My Little Pony" toy comes to life on your Windows computer screen in this collection of 10 one-player games. Children start by signing in -- up to six games can be saved. Next, you see a scrapbook, which displays 10 empty game slots. If you've already played, some of the games might be unlocked. In order to make it all the way to the end and see the parade, you need to successfully complete the first two levels of each game. This is a nice way to integrate all the activities for children. In addition, each activity is reviewed prior to the parade, helping children review each activity. Once you've made it to the end, you can go back at any time to play any of the unlocked games. While the games vary in quality, they are generally easy to do, and there's a nice mix of logic and creativity. For example, there's a cake decorating game, where a model is shown. Children must match each cake attribute, such as the frosting color, types of candles, their placement and so on. The more cakes they create, the harder the model gets, so there is always a challenge. Other games include a copy of "bejeweled," a racing game, bowling, dressing up and so on. If all six rounds in each activity are played, children can earn parts of a poster. There's a bit too much chatting, but this can be shortened by pressing the ESCAPE key (children will need to be shown this option). Some children may not care for the sugary sweet narration with pink themes, like Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie, but this is on par with the toy. There's no commercial content, other than the obvious extension of the My Little Pony brand, and the sound can be adjusted. If you're looking for a lot of solid play value on a single disk, this title won't disappoint. The program ran fine with Windows Vista. Designed for THQ by Imagineengine. Made with Bink Video.
