BOB Time Manager
© 2007 Hopscotch Technology
BOB combines a physical switch with a timer so that parents can set limits on screen time. Once the time is up, the electronics shut off. It is designed to put an end to child-parent conflicts about screen time, in theory anyway. Parents first plug BOB into any electronic device with a screen and set the timer for up to six users. The accounts are PIN activated, and parents can block usage for specific times of the day if need be. Once a child reaches their hourly, daily, or weekly limits, BOB shuts off the screen by disconnecting the electricity. Of course, there are ways around any system, such as going to a friends house to play. But BOB is one solution that takes a very direct approach.
