Madeline: Thinking Games
© 1996 Creative Wonders (The Learning Company)
Eleven multilevel learning games can be found in Madeline's house and surrounding garden. The activities range in challenge level but are generally most appropriate for children ages four to eight (five and up as indicated by the box is a stretch). In the kitchen, kids pack a picnic basket by clicking on food that is moving across a conveyer belt. They must follow instructions like "Please get four cakes," before the food ends up in dog Genevieve's mouth. Children can also match pictures of ingredients to bake dishes. In the classroom, kids look for the matching pair of pictures from similar pictures. They can also play a spelling activity in which they type the letters of a word according to a model. In the Studio, children watch Madeline music videos, paint Madeline pictures, or play a piano keyboard. In the girls' bedrooms, they can piece together jigsaw puzzles, practice a few simple French and Spanish words, and decorate a room with a variety of stickers. Navigation can be tricky and the activities are for the most part standard stuff, best for a true blue Madeline fan.
