Designed to prep kids for state achievement tests, this is a potentially useful collection of multiple-choice worksheets, with self-correcting answers. The goal of the $390 "Plus" version we reviewed is to prepare students for either 4th, 6th and/or high school math proficiency tests. You can choose preselected collections of questions from existing state tests -- such as Nevada -- or create the questions yourself. All the questions use the same multiple-choice template, and all feedback requires reading, which makes things dry. But so is the test, so the formats match. The first step is to set up an account for each student. Next, students can sign-in to take a test or just practice. As they answer the questions, a color-coded tally system tracks progress. For missed questions, students can read a one-line hint, such as "multiply the answers." Correct answers earn points, that can be used at a virtual store -- which helps to take some of the tedium out of the tasks. A management system keeps records, and each child is given a password protected account that works on a stand-alone Windows computer. Note that there are several bundles available, that vary greatly in price; you can explore the options at www.moogieonthenet.com.
