The size and shape of a salt shaker, this MP3 player has a speaker that makes it possible to share audio files with everyone at the table. Its like a micro-sized juke box. The device can only play MP3 or WAV files, and the process of shaking is not as simple as you'd think, hence the lowered rating. You have to hold the recessed power button while you shake, a skill that requires practice and can result in accidentally pausing the music. Fortunately you can also scroll through your play list by twisting the base, or the top to adjust the volume. There are two headphone jacks, though just one set of ear buds comes in the kit. The bottom unscrews in order to load the battery (one AAA, included) that provides about 10 hours of play time; plus there's an SD card slot and a USB port. The kit includes a clip on lanyard, a cable and one 512 MB SD card.
