Do you like to solve mazes? If so, this 64-page color workbook/software combination is a great choice, especially considering it costs $8 — either in stores or at www.schoolzone.com. The workbook contains 57 tear-out color mazes that are easy to solve (perfect for early elementary) and vary in theme. The software contains 30 maze themes, within which a random maze is generated. You use the arrow keys to move a marker up, down, left, or right through the paths (all the lines are at right angles). Your progress is timed, and high scores are kept on a High Score Roster, creating a fun learning center for a classroom. Other nice features include a race mode, where you compete against the computer, and the ability to toggle the music on or off. Other programs in the Puzzle Play series include Spelling, Dot-to-Dots and Hidden Pictures.
