Teaches: a headphone/microphone peripheral for the Nintendo DS

CTR Review

Anyone who's ever spoken into a Nintendo DS game — such as Nintendogs — knows how awkward it can be to keep saying "sit" or "speak" into the tiny microphone, all while scribbling with the stylus and keeping track of the game controls. The Turtle Beach Ear Force D2 ($20 at www.turtlebeach.com) simplifies things by bringing the microphone where it should be — in front of your mouth. There's also an independent volume dial on the wire, although this really isn't needed — the DS volume slider works just fine. The unique plug is exclusive to a Nintendo DS or DS Lite only, and can't be used for any other use. It comes in three colors — black, white and pink to match the current Nintendo DS Lite cases. The headset can be adjusted for either child or adult-sized heads, and the microphone is designed to be positioned out of the way when it is not in use. With the increasing number of Nintendo DS games that use speech or sound, this microphone/headset combination makes a gamer's life just a little bit easier.
