Disney pix-max
© 2006 Digital Blue
Designed for the child longing for a real digital camera, there's the Disney Pix-Max ($80 from www.playdigitalblue.com, for ages 5-up).Underneath the mouse-ear decorations, this is a base-level 3.0 MP camera, with 32 MB of internal storage. There is also an SD/MMC card slot that you can use to increase this to 2 GB. Extra memory cards and the two AA batteries are not included in the price. Other essential features include an auto-flash, a 1.5 inch color LCD screen, an optical view finder and a 4x digital zoom. The best kid feature is the ability to superimpose Disney characters over the picture in your viewfinder. So if you want to have Piglet smiling at your dog, you press the magic wand button and adjust the camera until you see Piglet positioned where you want him. This type of on-the-fly editing was appreciated by our kid testers.Pictures can be easily exported to either computer or TV screens using the included cables, and a Windows-only editing package lets you further Disney-fy your photos with borders and additional clip art.
