Desktop Dolphin

This CD-ROM is a coloring book about dolphins. It contains 30 pictures to color and a blank canvas for you to create your own art work. The pictures can be saved, printed out, and colored over and over so that children can experiment with different colors. They can even draw additional details to the coloring pages. The program has three levels of play and includes fun dolphin sounds. Children can sign in to their own account and you can set the settings for the age appropriate level. The Baby Dolphin level is for very young users. They will enjoy ten easy round color buttons and simple color choices. This level is very basic, our two-year-old tester had a blast playing with the colors, changing the coloring page, and clearing the page when he was done. The second level is called Dolphin Calf. There are 36 color buttons in the shapes of stars. In this level you are given a blank page and crayon to draw and an erase for any mistakes made.Juvenile Dolphin is the last level. This level gives access to the Windows color dialog box where virtually any color can be selected. The color Dropper, Line, Rectangle and Circle tools are enabled to help make your drawings or colorings more creative. The coloring pages found in this program are limiting to pages on dolphins. When selecting a coloring page you will hear actual pages of a book turning which made it fun to flip through. This program is very easy to navigate through and pictures can be colored differently every time. My son and I also printed pictures out so that we could color them with crayon together. The age leveling tool allows anyone to use it according to their abilities. Keep in mind it is a 30-page coloring book on the computer.
