When it comes to learning low-level skills like vocabulary words, a little sugar always helps the medicine go down. In this case, things are sweetened by a funky hip-hop beat, to which basic Spanish vocabulary words are presented, in 'follow-the-bouncing-ball' style lyrics. There is very little actual interactive content on this disk. Instead, the content is presented in a menu that lets you choose to view (or print) a worksheet (as a PDF) or play one of four movies in Macromedia Director format. So you'll need to play this from a Mac- or Windows-based computer instead of a DVD player. Keep in mind that for classroom use, a pair of good speakers is necessary. Also, be aware that content is limited to the most basic vocabulary: "El Cuerpo" (body parts); "La Granja" (farm animals and sounds); "Los Colores" (ten basic colors), and "La Sala de Clase" (classroom vocabulary). While there is no application features other than the printed worksheets, the repetition makes learning the words fun (and a bit silly). If you're an elementary classroom teacher who wants to playfully present some basic Spanish vocabulary words, or if you teach a class in Spanish, this disk is worth a second look.
