Scene It? James Bond Collector's Edition
© 2006 Screenlife, LLC
James Bond fans, take note. Now you can test your knowledge of the 21 Bond films, including Dr. No, You Only Live Twice and Casino Royale. Like other Screenlife titles, this game uses board game metaphor — you move using virtual dice while answering questions about film clips, audio clips, images and other Bond-related trivia to win. The game offers individual, team and party-play options. An on-screen tutorial helps new players, but play is the same as in other Scene It? games. Two dice indicate the number of spaces to move and which type of challenge will be played — My Play, All Play, Trivia Card, Question Cards and Player's Choice. For example, a film clip depicting the Eiffel Tower is shown, followed by a question such as, “What city did this scene take place in?” Yet, not every question is this easy. Some are quite difficult even for Bond fans. The audio clip for “You Only Live Twice” stumped all five of our testers ranging in age from 15 to 45.We found the age guideline (13-adult) appropriate as many movie clips contain action violence and some of the female actresses are barely dressed. We also liked the ability to either to shorten the game (by folding the board into a smaller circle shape) or accommodate a party (by choosing Party Mode from the main menu). In Party Mode, as the DVD continuously plays clips and questions, everyone tries to be the first to correctly shout out the answer. Containing more than 1,000 Bond trivia challenges, film clips and images, this is a good choice for Bond fans — allowing them to play the game many times without repeating questions. On the other hand, if you’ve never seen a Bond film, skip this one, as knowledge of the films is integral to game play.
