The best of the three Disney Cameras from Digital Blue (but still not good enough) this $80 option comes close to satisfying your child's need to have a "real" digital camera. Just keep in mind that for $20 more, you can get a lot more camera from a name brand. The other two Disney cameras are the $20 Disney pix-micro and the $50 Disney pix-click. This model comes with just 32 MB of RAM, although there is an SD/MMC card expansion slot that allows you to greatly expand the camera's capacity. Like the pix-micro, there's a crude auto flash that can easily wash out your picture. This camera also has a view finder (the kind you look throug), 4x digital zoom and NTSC/PAL TV output capability. The 3.0 MP resolution makes a huge difference in the photo quality over the pix-click. The best kid feature is the ability to superimpose Disney characters into your picture as you're shooting. So if you want to have Piglet smiling at your dog, you press a magic wand button next to the preview screen and adjust the camera until Piglet is positioned where you want him. Importing pictures into a Windows or Mac computer is just like any other USB camera. Just plug it in, and a hard drive icon appears on your desktop. The Windows-only photo editing software that comes with this camera looks good, and it is easy to add art or stickers to pictures, but it is nearly impossible to import images directly from the digital camera. For younger children, the Fisher-Price Kid Tough Digital Camera is a good consideration. The camera requires 2 AA batteries (not included).
