Intended to capture the girl gamer, the PS2 version of the Bratz takes you inside a 3D Fashion Promenade where you move around, switching between different Bratz characters to find objects and solve problems. The challenges are as strong as the female stereotypes in this game. As with the other Bratz games, the characters engage in stereotypical female interests such as shopping, makeup and dressing up. Clicking on the cell phone icon provides an overview of the current challenge. You start in the Bratz office where you can save your game on the laptop computer. The Locate Option on the phone gives you directions to a chosen location. Strap on your roller blades and follow the pink arrow to take your Bratz character to one of the storefronts to complete a task. The pet store allows you to adopt a dog or cat, train it and buy it clothes. Other mini games include purchasing outfits, buying music to download onto your phone, designing tee shirts and posters, applying makeup, figure skating and taking photos with a camera that can zoom in and out. You can finance your shopping sprees simply by collecting all the coins that pop up. For devotees of the Bratz characters, this is an entertaining extension of the brand, with multilevel games and plenty of fashion. We liked the customizing options, for example, when choosing outfits or jewelry. You can also travel to different locations (i.e. Florida and New York) to play additional mini games. Note that the console and GBA version is for one player, and the DS version has a two-player wireless game-sharing mode. Developed by Blitz (PS2, GC) and Barking Lizard (GBA, DS) for THQ.
