Beobi and the Magic Coloring Book Our First Adventure

This is a combination book/CD-ROM. The CD fits inside a sleeve on the back of the soft-cover book and contains a self-running version of the story that was created with Flash Player. The 24-page picture book features a boy/monkey named Beobi, who goes on various adventures with his friends. In this adventure, he is hunting in a jungle to find a lost book. The disk, to which the ratings apply, plays automatically on any newer Mac or Windows computer loaded with Flash Player. It is not very interactive, with the exception of the Color In The Magic Coloring Book option, where children drag the cursor over the page to see it fill in with colors. Note that this was sluggish on a Mac G4 — the colors dragged behind the cursor. Other options include a movie and a page-by-page reading of the book with the words highlighted. The stories are written by Tricia Cohn and can be ordered in English or Spanish. There are also stuffed animals that accompany the series of books.
